This is something I've been thinking about rolling out for a long time - and now that I'm spending a little more time at home in front of my computer, I figured it was the perfect time to finally iron out all of the wrinkles and go for it. I've made the decision to go to a mainly membership-based business plan; I think it will be easier and more convenient for everyone, and there are a lot of perks to automating this part of my business!
To lay things out for you, I've based the prices on a 44-week lesson calendar. That means that you have 8 weeks built in (that you're not paying for) to account for holidays, vacations, conflicts, and anything else that might disrupt your normal lesson schedule. With that said, if the planets align and we manage to find time for those 8 extra lessons throughout the year, they're all yours! (For 30-minute lessons, that's a $240 value; for 45-minute lessons, a $320 value; and for 60-minute lessons, a $400 value!) The monthly fee is basically 10 months worth of lessons, divided by 12 - so the monthly payment remains consistent throughout the year.
I've also added the option of video lessons. While I recommend in-studio lessons when possible, this is a great resource for busy families, student athletes, and anyone who might run into transportation issues or feel a little under the weather (but still well enough to have a lesson). I've been experimenting with Zoom lately because of the current global health crisis, and so far I really like it. I can send invitations, schedule recurring meetings, and if I'm finishing up the lesson before yours when you try to connect to our meeting, Zoom will place you into its "waiting room" - so when I disconnect from the other meeting, I can connect directly to yours. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer (with cell service or an internet connection) and your instrument!
With the membership plans, you can schedule as many video makeup lessons as you'd like (as long as they're at reasonable times and I'm free during that time) at no extra charge. If you have a question or are struggling with something, let me know and we'll set up a Zoom meeting! It can be a simple question and a quick session, or your full lesson length. I'm more than happy to help out in any way that I can, and it's always better to get those questions resolved than it is to practice something incorrectly for a week.
The other option you have through the "plans & pricing" page is a la carte lessons. You can buy a bundle of two lessons (30, 45, or 60 minutes) and use them whenever you want, as long as it's within 6 months of the purchase. This is a good option if your schedule is inconsistent and you know you can't commit to a membership plan, or if you'd just like to try out the studio for a short time.
I hope that you appreciate the ease and convenience of these membership plans. I'm excited for these new changes, and think that it will be beneficial for the students, families, and the studio as a whole!
