ABOUT THE OWNER

A seasoned performer, dedicated educator, and experienced reedmaker, Leslie Godfrey holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in oboe performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University), where she studied with Matt Sullivan. She has performed across Europe and China and has given numerous American premieres of works by British composers. Leslie’s interests extend into electronic and contemporary music, with performances of works for oboe and CD, as well as improvisatory pieces for oboe and delay system.

Based in the tri-state area, she is an active freelance musician frequently heard in opera orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo recitals, and local orchestras.

In addition to her music career, Leslie is a certified personal trainer, certified strength and conditioning coach, and Barre Above Level 2 certified instructor. She currently serves as the Head Coach at GameChanger Fitness in Berkeley Heights, where she helps busy adults move better, feel stronger, and live their best lives.

Leslie taught oboe and music history for a decade at New Jersey City University (NJCU), as well music appreciation at Essex County College. She has been teaching private oboe and piano lessons for over twenty years and has extensive experience in reed making. Her equipment includes a Reeds n' Stuff / Hodge gouging machine, a Reeds n' Stuff shaping machine, and Gilbert -1, Gilbert 1, Joshua +2, and Caleb shaper templates.
